AuditTrail Configuration was created by brond
I am obviously missing what must be obvious.

I can configure AuditTrail to pretty much do what I want and seem to be able to configure it to work the way I want. The one thing I cant seem to be doing is to configure it to do a blanket dont audit anything unless I told you to audit something.

Is their an option to basically disable audit unless it's a table whose table audit is being triggered via a rule ?

i am not sure I follow you, I guess we are talking about the XpandAuditTrail module
apobekiaris.blogspot.gr/2013/08/declarative-data-auditing.html

which provides rules to audit when rule is valid. So can u give a more concrete example?

Yes we are talking about the XpandAuditTrail module.

I have attached a sample project (1 object). In the real world I would have many more objects. Most objects would not have Auditing turned on. So I am trying to change the default audit trail to be off, unless I put a rule indicating that the business object should be audited. I know how to create the rules but I do not seem to be able to turn off all auditing by default.

Thanks for the sample, short answer the case was not supported.

I will support it in next minor 17.2.7.3 where you can add a rule for your base class e.g XPBaseObject, set the AutidingMode to None and Index to zero. Now all rules with Index>0 for the derived classes by default override that rule.

Let me know how it works when you test it.

Thank you Tolis. I think it will be a great option. Looking forward to 17.2.7.3 :)
